    A message from Northline CEO

As I look back on the last 12 months, I would first like to say a big thank you to our customers and employees this year. We have been very fortunate to continue working together with many exciting projects and developments underway or completed.

    40th year celebrations

As a business, 2023 has been a year to celebrate and reminisce on the last 40 years since we established in 1983. Much of that included philanthropy and community engagement with our employees, customers, and suppliers raising an incredible $100,000 for our not-for-profit charity partner, Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.

    Appointments and promotions

Recently, we boosted our Sales team structure which has resulted in several promotions. These appointments will expand Northline’s organic growth and reach whilst strengthening relationships with our customers. Therefore, I am delighted to share that:

    • Ed Milham was appointed General Manager, Sales. Ed now takes responsibility for all sales functions under this expanded role. After starting with Northline as a graduate in 2010, Ed has performed a number of sales leadership roles, bringing a strong set of skills and more than 13 years of knowledge within Northline.
    • Nathan Ferguson was appointed National Sales Manager and will be responsible for new business development and overarching relationship management. Nathan has been with Northline for over 5 years, most recently leading the Major Account Management team.
    • After commencing with Northline last year as Major Account Manager, Anthony Stenos became our National Major Account Manager. This role will see him lead the Major Account Management team, enhancing relationships with our existing customer base and Northline sales teams.
    • Finally, Karl Heidenreich was appointed Sales Manager SA & National Project Logistics. Since re-joining the business in 2022, Karl will now oversee business development for our SA-based customers as well as manage customer requirements within our Project Logistics service.
    Technology

From a technology point of view, Northline released its new and improved Track app, giving customers visibility throughout the entire journey, estimated time of arrival, flexibility for searching, and customisable notifications. We also introduced the Orocoda Logistics Management System, providing fleet optimisation and delivery management solutions to support the management of Northline’s freight fleet.

    Property

Regarding property, our Sydney depot will relocate in February 2024 to a facility in St Marys, ultimately combining both the Davis Road, Wetherill Park (transport) and Britton Street, Smithfield (warehousing) operations. Our Brisbane site located in Bundamba is well underway, and we expect this to be completed in July next year. Lastly, our new National Service Centre site in Kent Town, Adelaide has started to progress, and we will see the team move in the second half of next year.

    Customer survey

On a final note, thank you to those who completed our customer experience survey recently. Your feedback is essential in helping us continue to improve and grow our service offering.
