Read moreIn 1994, Northline opened a small depot in Laverton North which neighboured an abattoir. Although not an ideal location, having a depot in Melbourne was a strategic move for the business.
During this time, Melbourne established itself as a direct market into other states as infrastructure links improved. A short time later, Northline acquired work from Adelaide-based company, Bulls Transport, after they unexpectedly pulled out of the Melbourne market.
Over the next eight years, Northline continued to grow steadily and then in 2003, moved into a depot on Strzelecki Avenue, Sunshine West, where they proceeded to double the size over the next two years.
The year 2003 also saw Northline purchase the Melbourne Warehouse Company and eventually integrated all warehousing operations into a second location on Strzelecki Avenue.
Two years later, in 2005, Northline brought good news to the team in Victoria and opened a $16 million freight hub, their first purpose-built depot, down the road from their previous facility on Strzelecki Avenue.
From their state-of-the-art facility in Sunshine West, Northline offers an integrated distribution centre with the latest warehousing and freight management processes.
As the years passed, the Melbourne team continued to push forward, and in 2022, the team won the prestigious title of ‘Branch of the Year’.
