An update from former graduate, Tash Siddiquee

Tash joined the business in 2023 as part of Northline’s Graduate Program. With prior experience in the Transport and Logistics industry and a degree in Accounting, Tash hoped that the Graduate Program would enhance his personal and professional growth.

Find out how Tash found the program and what he’s up to now.

At the start of the program, you were most looking forward to getting experience in Finance. Did this end up being your favourite rotation?

Initially, I was most interested in Finance as I studied Accounting at university and I like numbers. However, I actually found that I enjoyed my operational rotations the most. I already have workplace experience within Operations and during my time on the program, I learnt that I was still able to use the analytical skills that I learnt during my degree. I felt that an operational role would be the best pathway for my career within the Logistics industry. I enjoy the fast-paced aspects of the department, solving problems and doing something different every day.

Can you describe your new role?

As soon as I finished the Graduate Program, I was appointed to the role of Operations Support Officer. It is a national role involving a lot of travel, mainly to Sydney and Melbourne. My exposure to all departments across Northline made me a strong candidate for this role because I was able to go to any depot and support them in whatever way they needed. I especially enjoyed my time helping with our recent move in Sydney from Wetherill Park to St Marys.

However, at the beginning of June, I made the decision to relocate full-time to Sydney. Northline offered me a huge opportunity to progress my career and I took on the role of PM Operations Supervisor. I didn’t realise at the time but assisting with the depot move was an excellent transition and meant that I was able to become part of the Sydney team and connect with the crew over there before undertaking this role.

In this role I will be overseeing afternoon operations in Sydney, leading the Forklift Operators and General Hands to efficiently load and unload freight. I am very excited about this opportunity and know that I will be supported every step of the way.
