Aravinda Pitigala shares his experience and insights in the International space

With 20 years of experience under his belt, Aravinda Pitigala has covered all facets of the Transport and Logistics industry.

Hear Aravinda’s takes on the industry and Northline’s international capabilities:

What type of industries/roles have you worked in before?

I’ve been in the Logistics industry for over 20 years and have worked all over the world including Southeast Asia, the Middle East and now in Australia for the past 17 years. Over the last two decades, I have been in many roles within the industry, such as Customer Service, Operations, Third-Party Logistics (3PL), Network Development and Procurement, but predominantly in Sales and Marketing.

    Can you describe your role?

My primary focus is to generate revenue through new business acquisitions, drive market growth and maximise profitability. In addition to this, I identify how else we can better service our existing customers.

What has been your favourite aspect since joining the business?

It has been the continuous growth in the international market. I feel as though we are just scratching the surface; we have a huge potential.

Freight entering Australia from Asia tends to be the most common. There are also decent volumes to and from Southeast Asia, the USA and the sub-continent.

What sets our department apart from competitors?

It is a combination of our vast network, industry know-how, and being able to provide end-to-end solutions, all under one roof.

What are the advantages of using Northline’s International Management services?

Northline can provide customised and tailored solutions and services to every customer. On top of this, w have a presence around the globe, but are still “local”.
